Hello Family & Compliments of the season to everyone out there! It’s Friday the 27th of December 2019 & we are a few days from closing this year & decade as we look clearly into the year 2020 & the next decade.
It’s been 3 months since my last post after the transition of my kid brother into glory.
Life has not been the same for me & the family at large, however on a daily basis we see the healing balm of Gilead working His magic in our lives as we slowly but surely march forward irrespective.
As part of the healing process, I’ve taken intentional steps to reconnect with my old mates, friends & associates who were there when my brother & I were growing up, especially my college mates. The innocence & sincerity of our connections & friendship close to 30 years ago (when we had nothing) was critical indeed & I’m grateful to them all.
Because I know we are in a battle & we recently lost a soldier, another thing I’ve been doing for the past 3 months is being imbibed into the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world of the UFC ( Ultimate Fighting Champion) as I studied the ANATOMY OF A FIGHTER.
Anatomy of a Fighter is a weekly documentary web series about the world of Mixed Martial Arts combat sports, which features some of the worlds best MMA fighters, boxers, coaches, trainers and gyms as produced by Will Harris.
It’s no coincidence that there has been a recent rise to prominence of Nigerian-Born fighters in the world of combat sports with the likes of Anthony Joshua (AJ) in Boxing, Kamaru (The Nigerian Nightmare) Usman & Israel (The Last Style Bender) Adesanya in the UFC & that caught my attention as this was in alignment with clear warnings given to the Devil about happenings in my family in the last post.
We are fighters in this family & we declare again WE ARE NOT GOING TO BOW!!!
We clearly understand that the WAR has been won by our General ( The Lord Jesus Christ) so we are fighting from a victorious stand point, however there are battles to fight each & every day of our lives in enforcing that victory.
A Fight to the Finish
In Ephesians 6:10-18 The Message (MSG), the Bible say
10-12 And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
The KJV version of that scripture v12 says ” For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. “
I love the fact that it’s wrestling ( as anything goes here, nothing is illegal in dealing with the opponent), the same way with MMA (all styles are allowed for your use to defeat the opponent) & God has given us weapons (indispensable ones).
In the coming weeks, I will be taking time to run this series “THE ANATOMY OF A FIGHTER” & will attempt to place a parallel between a combat sports fighter & we as believers in our quest to taking the battle to the gates of the enemy, extending the frontiers of the kingdom of God & enforcing the victory that Jesus Christ gave to us at the cross.
I want to thank you for allowing me grief in my own way, for the overwhelming love & support I’ve received so far. It has been awesome & I’m indeed grateful for the rich network that has surrounded me.
Are you a fighter?
Can you hear the battle cry?
This is my re-fire snippet …….. I AM SHALOMESQ!!!!!!!

The anatomy of a fighter this reminds me of going to abacol and passing through the anatomy department in U.I and looking at the bones for practical so this makes it clear what we are set to enjoy in this series as the Lord use you to expose all the secrets needed in fighting to getting results and we will all come out Victorious and not Victims……shalom Bro
