If the grass looks greener on the other side, water your lawn!!!!!!!!

While growing up, I was totally addicted to watching cartoons. I love all sort, but the story of princess Ariel the mermaid fascinated me a great deal. She always wanted to know how it felt being a human with legs and walking on the surface rather than swimming in the ocean. Her pet tortoise ( Sebastian) sang her a song titled “under the sea”. The first line says ” The sea weed is always greener in somebody else’ lake”. That is the subject of this post today.

A lot of people don’t appreciate what they have, they look at others and marvel or dream of what life will be in another person’s shoes. Hey wake up and smell the coffee, instead of fantasies pull up your boot strap and water your own lawn. It might look like the other guy had it smooth and easy, you may feel that life wasn’t fair to you and you wish you could exchange situations or circumstances with that other person, but I am a firm believer in the fact that your destiny is in your hands.

You have something unique in you that the world is waiting for, so instead of throwing a pity party, please square up and place a demand on life. Life will give you what you demand, there is a story to be told. Don’t let your background put your back to the ground! Arise, dust yourself and determine to make the best out of your life.

No matter the situation that you are in right now, no matter how dark it looks, there is light at the end of the tunnel if only you won’t give up. Life is like a boxing bout, you are declared a loser ONLY if you stay down after a fall. As long as you get back up after a fall, the bout is still on. 1Cor10:13 (MSG) says “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit;he’ll always be there to help you come through it”. I like the way NKJV puts it “but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it”. So if you think you are having it worse than others, I am here to tell you God is faithful , there is a way of escape, don’t envy or hate the other guy who seems to be having it better than you. Just concentrate on finding that way of escape! Water your lawn!

Let’s relate this to a couple of situations:

1. To that married man that is always complaining about his marriage and is almost looking to step out on his wife I would say take a second look at your wife, there is good in her. That’s why you married her in the first place, why would you leave 80% to go chasing after 20% (Pareto’s Law)? Water your lawn sir, look for that way of escape, appreciate her, look for that good and things will be greener than you can ever fathom.

2. To the sister that is financially broke and you are thinking that life as a call girl to the rich and powerful is the way to go, I would say What is your dignity worth to you? You can make it out of that pit if only you rely on God and use your brain. Stir up business ideas, look for work, look for that way of escape. It is there.

I know this is for someone out there, God is faithful, he will not disappoint. I had slept, but He woke me up to write this, there is a reason for it.

He wants your lawn to be green, he wants to sort you out. Please let him.

  1. People fail to realize that there are different shades of green and your ‘green grass’ might be greener than a perceived ‘greener grass’. It all depends on d shade of green that compliments you.
Always water your lawn as advised and also identify your own ‘shade of green’.

  2. This just made my day- life is full of challenges even when you to get to the supposedly greener grass, you will realize the former grass wasn’t that brown-it just needed watering like you said. Thanks for the piece!
